Edo period Japanese lacquered rice caddy with black finish and red interior. The lid is decorated in gold with woman and fan. Condition is very good, but we have documented some lacquer surface finish and the impression of a bang or knock suffered somewhere along the way. The base is a bit wobbly. However, at 200 years and climbing it is in awfully nice shape and quite decorative. One photo show the reflection of overhead ceiling and is not part of the condition of the box.
