What a treat to have a genuine chromolithograph after seeing so many offset lithographs! This nostalgic vignette of children fishing was produced with highest production standards and retains its fresh striking colors nearly 120 years after its production. The matting and framing obscure the publisher and artist, but it is of a caliber of the very best illustrators of the day. The glitter on the fishing lines is still intact and bold.
The condition of the print is superb but there is a small smudge and loss of color across the far right girl's dress which we show in the photographs. We would happily furnish additional photos. The silver frame shows some paint chipping at the very bottom, a defect which we plan to remedy.
If you love illustrator art, the 1890s, or authentic chromolithographs, and are looking for first tier quality, you owe it to yourself to purchase this magnificent framed print.
