An exceptionally rare form of slag glass, this late 19th century example is richly marbled throughout. It rests on a round foot which rises on a stem supporting a tiered support for the paneled bowl. This specimen is in outstanding condition and retains its identification tag from an advanced collector who died in 1939.
We have limited but very interesting provenance on this and other goblets from this collection of a socially prominent family whose matron was actively involved in artistic and philanthropical pursuits. We will happily supply what we know to serious collectors.
