This antique cast iron horse drawn fire truck consists of a horse drawing a water pumper driven by a fireman molded into his seat. The toy c. 1900 - 10 and attributed to Shimer, Son & Company, a small Pennsylvania toy firm which was active from the 1890s to perhaps as late as 1920. The underside is embossed with 1075, presumably a model number. This model is nickel plated.
The condition is good, having around 20-25% paint loss, wobbly wheels, two of which are missing hub caps. There is no rust - or not discernible. The reins are missing.
For pure antique charm, you cannot go wrong with these hard to find Shimer toys.
