Originally conceived as part of a figural group for a larger commission, Charity depicts the doting love of a mother for her two children. Paul Dubois ( 1829 - 1905 ) originally exhibited it at the Salon of 1877. The famed Barbedienne foundry reproduced smaller versions for interior decoration. This particular version is 18", signed Paul Dubois, and stamped with the Foundry mark. Condition is very good with slight wear of patina to high points such as knee and nose. This exceptional bronze is more evocative today than ever. Dimension: 18" h
