An Indian bronze Ganesh holding attributes and consort, mounted on ovoid tableau all raised on rectangular plinth. The brass gilding accents the base as well as the high points of the figure. While in generally excellent condition for its age, there is cupric oxidation on the left eye piece and a couple of patina losses as noted in the photo. The patina is dark chocolate brown which makes the brass accents all the more impressive. Given the detail and size of this Ganesh compared to those commonly seen, it was clearly intended for a wealthy Indian family. We date it no later than the 19th C.
