Dutch Oude-Loosdrecht Tea Bowl & Saucer, c. 1780

Rare and Unique Dutch Oude Loosdrecht Porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer, c. 1780. Colonial decoration of the Cape of Good Hope in miniature painting in a gold cartouche and scenes of life and customs. Cup has a standing native with bow and quiver of arrows at lakeside with boat and village in background. Saucer has natives and horse grain threshing "Koor'n dors". Flower sprigs, green border with twisted pink ribbon and gilt garlands. Excellent condition. Marked underglaze blue M.O.L. with star. Possibly a special commission. Saucer 5 inches, Tea Bowl 2 inches.
