Early Philadelphia Silver Eyeglasses by James McAlister, c. 1840. For William Meredith (1722-1844.) He was a very prominent attorney and his father was a very prominent merchant and friend of George Washington. See The Lives of Eminent Philadelphians by Henry Simpson, 1859. Marked McAlister, Phila and with engraved initials M.W.. Case is also signed. All information will be suppled to buyer. 4 1/2 inches wide(Glasses).
