Lovely early Montereau french transferware plate depicting the Porte St. Martin, otherwise known as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, built by Napoleon to commemorate his great victories.
This plate measures 9 ¾” which is larger than the Creil and Montereau plates you normally see. It is in perfect condition, with a flat rimless bottom and the impressed Montereau mark, circa 1835.
