 Toggle, Wood Carved in form of a Chi Chi Lion

Chinese ,Qing dynasty length 6.3cm height 2.9cm The lion rests his paw on a ball, as he is often depicted. The Chinese used a toggle in the same way that the Japanese used a netsuke. The Japanese did,in fact, often use toggles as netsukes.
