A watercolor with pencil and pen and ink showing the Arch of Janus in the foreground on the right with the tower and a porch of the Church of Saint George’s in Velabro Rome a little further back on the left. Written on the old backboard “S. Giorgio – Roma/ Augustus Hare” and a card on added to it fairly recently, probably when it was reframed, “S. A molded porcelain figure of a man in 18th century dress turned slightly to his right to warm his hands over a flaming brazier, emblematic of winter. The figure is marked on the base with the underglaze blue “F.” for Furstenberg. It also has the impressed marks A.a.M for a later production of the model which has the impressed number 85. 7 3/8 inches (19 cm) tall.

Condition: excellent except for the amputation of the fingertips of the right hand.

The green leaves on a blue stem grow out of a yellow bulb on the ground. A Dutch delft polychrome hand decorated tile made between 1620 and 1650 depicting a double handled vase containing three orange flowers that fit into the space on the tile between the large painted corners. The colors are blue, orange and green. 4 ½ inches (11.5 cm) square. ½ inch (1.5 cm) wide. Tapered sides. Glued on hanger a late addition.

The petals in blue and orange, also the bee. The leaves are green and the blue stem is growing out of a green bulb on the ground. Condition: damaged along the upper left edge, part of an old repair and part not repaired. Firing flaw on the right. Small losses on other edges.

A pair of elaborate porcelain vases with large leaves in turquoise and gilt opening from a narrow base which rests on four wide feet. The base and feet encrusted with vegetation and occasional flowers which also support a large rising stem on either side with roses on one side and blue, orange garden flowers and possibly small lilies on the other side. Hard to imagine putting flowers that wouldn’t clash into these vases. Height 7 3/8 inches (19 cm), width 6 ¼ inches (16 cm) and depth 5 inches...

A pearlware child’s mug with the stencil inscription in blue on the front, “A Gift from the Pottery,” in a cut corner rectangle with a seaweed surround. The top and bottom of the mug with a single blue band. The ends of the oval handle spread like a leaf. 2 1/8 inches (5.4 cm) tall, 3 ¼ inches (8.3 cm) across the handle.

Three metal martini glasses stamped on the bottom "MADE IN/HSIANG YUN CO./HANKOW." Hankow (Hankou) is part of the present day city of Wuhan. In the early 20th century the city contained five foreign concessions.

Possibly paktong or another base metal with a resemblance to silver, though it is considerably harder. 4 ¾ inches (12 cm) tall.

A creamware mug, probably Liverpool, with a black transfer printed scene of a farm cottage with gate and outside the fence two men standing in front of a loaded one-horse cart. The oval transfer surrounded by foliage. Though much creamware was earlier it remained popular into the nineteenth century. 3 ¾ inches tall and 4 3/8 inches across the handle.

A creamware mug with a black transfer depicting two men walking across a bridge over a stream that pours into a peaceful river with a sailboat and boat with freight steered by a man in the stern. In the distance people on a point of land and in the far distance, beyond bends in the river, the top of an obelisk shows against the horizon. The oval transfer appears as if it was slightly too tall for the mug, being cut off at the bottom. It is otherwise framed with a laurel leaf surround. 3 5/8 inch...

A large ormolu mounted turquoise glass covered bowl with an ormolu (gilding gone) and an attached ormolu base (gilding in good condition). The flattened bowl decorated with gilt lines and white enamel jewels. The top with a gilt band around the outside, a ring of gilt leaves and berries, then two black transfer classical female figures on opposing sides separated by gilt and white enamel jeweled quatrefoils . 9 inches (23 cm) diameter. 5 7/8 inches (15 cm) tall.

An English creamware mug probably either Yorkshire or Staffordshire elaborately decorated with a brown body on which is painted in green black and yellow a very stylized house with fences and trees all within a yellow band at the foot and the lip. The squared off handle is also yellow. The shape of the handle leads to the fairly late date. 4 ¾ inches (12 cm) tall and 5 5/8 inches across the handle (14.2 cm).
