A nicely made large quilt in the triple Irish chain pattern from the late 19th century. The chains made of small squares of yellow, red and green pattern printed cotton. The double red border is of the same red printed pattern. There are seeds visible in the filling between the backing and the jam side. The quilting in the white squares is a feather wreath enclosing four hearts or possibly a four leaf clover. The white border between the two lines of red is quilted with tulips. The red portions are quilted with small squares. 84 by 84 inches.
Condition: replaced edge fabric is the big issue. It probably had a turned edge which frayed and at some point someone added a new edge. Some slight stains.
Very well-made and quilted.
