designer who excels in silver and gold overlay,shadowbox jewelry. Mr. Nelson has been active since 1975. For furthur information, see American Indian Jewelry by Gregory Schaaf and Angie Yan Schaaf, p.244. The necklace pendant on a 21" chain is crafted of 14K overlay on sterling and measures 2 l/2"x2"; The yei figures that adorn the chain are 2"x1/2" and the accenting turquoise in serrated bezels is spiderweb. The bracelet has a 5" inner circumference with a 1" gap; the center figure is 1 1/2"x3/4"; ring: 1 1/4"x 5/8", size 8; earrings, screwback: 1 1/4"x3/4" -

A very impressive Navajo cuff, ca. 1940's, set with a quite
large cabochon turquoise, mounted on a four twisted wire
band. The stone, set in a round-toothed bezel, is also framed by a twisted wire, flanked by stamped fans. The turquoise measures 2 1/4"L x 1 1/4"W. 5" circumference; 1" gap. Excellent condition.

Victor Gabriel is a Washoe Indian from the Lake Tahoe and Great Basin areas of California, working since 1975. He is an advanced silversmith whose esthetic of Native American is evidenced in his forms and lapidary work. This ring shows his skill as a goldsmith as well. A large opal is set in a gold bezel, framed by sugilite, coral and turquoise. The opal is 1"x1/2", size 7 1/4; excellent condition.

This unusual Navajo necklace is made up of eight rectangular Pilot Mountain (?) turquoise, set in stamped silver frames, the largest of which is 1"x7/8". Overall length is 28". Excellent condition.
