Very fine early Jacla - Navajo for "ear string" - in two strands, each strand about 13." Each strand consists of an attractive turquoise and coral heishi with spiny oyster shell pieces. Jackal are a traditional Pueblo adornment, often used as earrings, but also as attachments to necklaces. According to Mark Bahti, author of Collecting Southwestern Native American jewelery, jaclas with spiny oyster shell corn are rarely seen and highly prized by many Indians.
