Circa 1940, this "driver's watch" was made by Viennese jeweler Otto Grun. It is carefully made of 14k rose gold and is marked as such on the clasp. On the top it is adorned with rubies, diamonds, and white gold details. There is a hinged compartment holding the watch face that can be lifted by one of the four diamonds at the bottom. It contains approximately 1 carat total weight of diamonds, and approximately 1 carat total weight of rubies. The watch band portion is made of three separate snake chains in 14k yellow gold. It has a locking safety inside the clasp and a safety chain on the outside of the clasp. It is in excellent, fully working condition. The watch face measures approximately 1/2" square. The compartment that opens to reveal the watch face measures approximately 3/4" by 5/8". The top portion of the watch (the entire part stretching to where the chain link band starts) measures approximately 2 1/2" long and 1 3/8" at its widest. The overall length including the chain link band measures 6.5" long. There is a repair on the bottom portion of the band that has caused a stiff portion on the chain (please see the last picture). It is not noticeable.
