The cover decoration of this box, executed in an extremely nice cobalt blue, is well known as the central medallion of the inner decoration of some extremely rare underglaze blue Imperial Chenghua "Palace Bowls". It is a single stylished flower head, represented in a style resp. in a manner which we only do know from the Chenghua period. Ming Dynasty, Jingdezhen ware, 1465 - 1487. Diameter : 4,4 cm.
