A deep stoneware footed bowl decorated in underglaze iron oxide and covered with a feldspathic glaze. Mino Ware, E – Shino-type. Probably Momoyama Period, late 16th. Century or later. The piece is stored in a nice Japanese original fitted wooden box. Diameter : 28,2 cm. H : 6,2 cm. ( The box : 29,2 x 29,4 x 9,6 cm. ) Condition : Perfect original condition with one firing crack which is to see on the images. Provenance : Former collection of a German diplomat in Japan.

A decorative Temmoku glazed bowl with a raised decoration of a Dragon and Lingzhi. Most probably Japanese and probably from the seventeenth or eighteenth century. Very interesting,bowl. Porcelaneous grey stoneware with a underglaze red decoration under a greenish colour fine crackled glaze. I am not very familiar with korean resp. japanese ceramics - I never before have seen a piece like this, but I know, how to look at a piece of porcelain resp. stoneware - this piece is genuine. It also has a " provinience " - it comes from a native Dayak family - very far from the interior of Kalimantan, Borneo. Diameter : 16,3 cm...
