Euro 1200 

A radiant casket made in the Koftgari technique, which is one of the most important types of South Asian metalware. Koftgari work features fine gold wire or gold leaf overlay hammered into patterns incised into the surface of an iron ground. The bottom decoration made in silver alloy foil, which unless cleaned has typically oxidised to black. Pakistan, Panjab, Sialkot or Gujrat, Kotli Loharan, ca. 1850 - 1870. Size : 16 x 11,7 cm. A definitely lvely pot with an extraordinary rich floral decoration with birds. The glaze and the deep cobalt blue blue strongly reminds on Chinese Jingdezhen ware pieces of the Ming Dynasty. Annamese ware ( Vietnam ) 15th - 16th century . Diameter : 7,4 cm. Condition : Perfect ( the glaze a little bit eroded, some fine glaze cracks, but no cracks in the body of the piece. )

There is one quite similar piece to see in this book ( Catalogue Nr. 42 ) and according Dawn F. It is extremely difficult to find a Khmer Tazza and still much more difficult to find a Khmer Tazza in a fine condition like this. Stoneware covered by a very nice iron brown glaze which shows due to its high age an rainbow effect. Khmer, Cambodia, 12th century but excavated in Indonesia. H : 13,4 cm. Diameter : 24,2 cm. Condition : Very nice. No crack. Some glaze - splinterings to the underside of the base which are to see on the last enlargements.
