Although this very good bowl bears a overglaze red Qianlong mark the piece is most probably from the Guangxu period - at least the decoration of the bowl points to it.
A perfect potted Famille Rose bowl brightly rich and colourful decorated to the exterior with a scaly five-clawed dragon in pursuit of the flaming pearl, alternating with descending long-tailed phoenix, all amidst meandering leafy scrolls. The iron red dragon further very scilfully decorated with gold.
The interior decorated with five bats, a rebus of happiness surrounding a masterly executed central longlivity character ( Shou medallion )
