| A very beautiful and impressive wooden box of octagonal shape, covered with black lacquer and richly decorated with ornaments of gilt lacquer. The front side applied with various hardstones to depict an ensemble of scholars´objects. There are some Chinese incised characters to the hardstone decoration which might be a signature of the artist. Eighteenth or nineteenth century. Diameter maximal : 47,8 cm. H : 11,2 cm. Condition : Some losts to the hardstone decoration but the box is so richly decorated that the few losts do not really desturb the beauty of this rare work of art. | ||
