Please remain seated ! The superlative description has its full authorization, this is most likely the most beautiful and most important iron brown decorated Yuan piece in the world. Sceptics are gladly invited to show me a better piece, if there is one.
Normally such kind of ware is only known with small splashed iron brown spots, sometimes in clusters of three. A very nice example for this we also do offer in our gallery. ( Please have a look at item # 793810 ( Stock # 226 ))
This piece now shows a iron brown decoration in a never before seen size and beauty. Regarding this decoration is as one would look at a modern art painting. Jar of globular form with a short lipped neck . Decorated with very large splashed brown iron spots and a Qingbai glaze over a very well potted porcelain body. Base unglazed. Jingdezhen or Fujian. Yuan Dynasty, fourteenth century.
Diameter 8,9 cm. H : 7,3 cm.
Condition : The two away broken horizontal lugs on the shoulder supplemented with two lugs made from solid gold. Further is the piece in an absolute perfect condition.
Unfortunately something went wrong with the images those show that iron-brown much too weakly and brightly. In reality the iron brown is much more intensively, stronger resp. darker and it much more tends to a red colour. The piece nearly looks like a iron red piece. The last enlargement quite good shows the real color.
