19th century Chinese lacquer snuff bottle in flask form with inlaid lac burgaute oval reserves on each side one depicting a flower sprig, the other a different flower with a butterfly in flight. Lac Burgaute is a French term describing a lacquer technique with inlaid designs using small shapes of iridescent blue-green and purple abalone shell and gold and silver foil and wire.
