Late Qing Dynasty (1890s - 1900s) small Chinese bronze seal with square base and loop for hanging on the top. The impression of the seal is shown on the first photo (image is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Nice piece with good casting, well carved raised characters on the base, dried red seal paste in the grooves. Very pleasant to the touch, wonderful piece for a scholar’s desk. Height 7/16 inches, base 7/16 inches square.

Late 19th century Chinese Canton enamel footed shallow dish painted in polychrome enamels with 2 different stands holding various archaic bronze vessels with leaves and flowers, and bamboo tubes tied with a knot - one of the Emblems of the Eight Immortals. Cavetto with painted flowers on yellow background, outside is enameled light green. Beautifully painted, few faint lines of crazing, overall in great condition. Wonderful item for a scholar’s desk. Length 4 1/2 inches.

Late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) small Chinese Canton enamel covered box for seal paste painted on the top with polychrome enamels depicting a Chinese lady with a fan in a garden, border of flower spray reserves and scrolling vines. Nice quality painting with famille rose colors, all dark spots are original pitting marks. Quiet item for a scholar’s desk. Height 1 inch, diameter 2 1/4 inches.

19th century small Chinese scholar’s rock in a shape of a long mountain range. The piece gives a very strong feeling of weathered rock shaped by water and time, and overpowering energy of the mountain range. Beautiful black Qilian limestone (Mount Qilian, Gansu province) with rich texture, provides excellent views from both sides, great patina. Fixed on newer ebony stand, superb object for contemplation on scholar’s desk. Length with stand 5 inches.

Unusual 1930s good size and weight Chinese puddingstone seal of classic square section, the imprint of the seal is shown on the first photo. Superbly cut beautiful natural stone with mesmerizing subtle play of colors. The bottom is carved with 4 sunken characters that can be translated as HALL OF TOTAL RIGHTEOUSNESS. 19th century Chinese snuff dish in a shape of a round saucer with gently concave surface, decorated on the outside with designs seen on ancient Chinese bronzes. Beautiful patina, old age lines, wonderful feel of age. Diameter 1 5/16 inches.

18/19th century small Chinese bronze gilded figure of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara standing on a base raised on a four footed platform, his right hand raised holding a long-stemmed lotus, and a water bottle in double gourd shape pendent from the left hand. His upper torso and head are surrounded by an aureole composed of scrolling flowers and surmounted by a pile of precious gems...

Extremely unusual and rare 19th century Chinese bone musical wind chimes with a horizontal bar carved with scrolling flowers and supporting 8 suspended hollow tubes. Each tube has a number of large and small holes in its side that allows it to produce a flute like sound as the wind blows through it. Each tube has a different number of holes (left to right, number of large/small holes): 3/6, 2/7, 0/9, 5/7, 4/8, 2/8, 3/4 and 3/9. Must form some sort of musical scale, I guess...

Late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) embroidered Chinese textile rank badge (also called mandarin square) denoting the third civil rank symbolized by the bird on the badge - the Peacock. Designs on background include peach, pomegranate, fish, shell and bats in flight among clouds and above the fungus of Immortality over the waves. Keyfret borders with peach, pomegranate and Buddha’s hand citron motifs, colors slightly faded, newer black velvet backing. Size 9x9.5 inches.

19th century Chinese cloisonne match box holder decorated on both sides with a blooming lotus flower surrounded by scrolling vines. Very nice work, good patina, in very good condition. Length 2 3/8 inches.

19th century Japanese scroll in ink and colors on silk painted by 6 different artists and depicting different hyotan (natural dried double gourds). Wonderful Zen subject, beautiful work, elegant composition, signed by each artist by the gourd that he painted. Paper mounts with some foxing on its lower part), spotted bamboo scroll ends, excellent painting for tea ceremony. Painting size 13 x 19.25 inches, scroll size 40 x 21 inches.

18th century Chinese toggle (similar in function to netsuke) carved out of boxwood in a shape of a monkey on a base, its face almost human, its mouth open. Very beautifully worn charming piece, patina consistent with age. Could have been used as a small brush rest. Very nice fingering piece, as well as an object for a scholar’s desk. Height 1 9/16 inches.
