Four small 19th (can be as early as 18th) century Burmese bronze opium weights, three with finials cast as Singha the lion and one as a mandarin duck. Opium weights is a fancy name for an ancient weight system which existed in Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and south China (Yunnan Province). The weights were used by traders to weigh a variety of goods: smaller ones for expensive goods (opium, gems, gold, silver), bigger ones for inexpensive commodities (vegetables, fruits, hides)...
