Late Qing Dynasy (1880s 10 1911) century Chinese Peking glass seal in cylindrical shape. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s table, very pleasant finish to the surface. Transparent glass with the slightest pink tinge. The bottom is carved with two raised characters that can be translated as EASTERN GARDEN, red seal paste in the grooves. Imprint of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Height 2 3/8 inches, diameter 1/2 inches.

19th century Tibetan bronze seal, seal surface carved with a canopy - one of the Eight Buddhist Emblems. Stupa shaped finial, nicely incised scrolling patterns around the body, very clear seal carving. Perforation in the middle for hanging, traces of red seal paste in the grooves of the seal, wonderful patina from handling. Height 1 1/2 inches.

Early 19th century decent size boxwood netsuke of a standing fox dressed as Buddhist priest, and leaning on a staff. This image of Hakuzosu the Fox-Spirit alludes to the kyogen plays Tsurigitsune (The Fishing Fox) or Konkai (The Cry of the Fox), both originating in the story of a priest of the Eitoku era (1381-1384) who worshipped the rice deity Inaba and was protected by three magic foxes. 19th century boxwood netsuke of a turtle family (if there is such thing) with 2 parents standing on the base formed by 11 young. Essentially the netsuke is a wish for longevity, luck and multitude of children. Superb detailing - see beautifully incised patterns of their carapaces and leathery texture of their limbs. Excellent staining, wonderful wear and patina, very pleasant to the touch. Height 15/16 inches.

19th century ivory netsuke of half of a Buddhist gong decorated with 2 dragons contesting the Precious Pearl in their mouths, reserves on the body of the gong showing the scales of the dragons, and a single Sanskrit character. 18th century ivory netsuke of one large and 2 smaller eggplants. Superb and very strong early piece with bold design, excellent naturalistic depiction of the stem parts of the vegetables. Unusually fat, exceptionally beautiful wear to the surface from more than 200 years of handling, great patina with characteristic early sheen, old age lines.
