19th century Chinese export silver spoon with the handle decorated in low relief with 2 scholars in a typical landscape of thatched hut and rocks. Excellent crisp work, in very good condition, pleasantly heavy. Two hall marks on the bottom - one in Chinese, the other appears to read HC. Length 5 7/8 inches.

19th century Chinese export silver coffee spoon with recessed enamel yin/yang symbol surrounded by 4 trigrams from I Ching. I Ching (The Book of Changes) is one of the oldest of the Chinese classic texts containing a divination system. Excellent crisp work, in very good condition, hallmarked in Chinese on the stem. Rather unusual 19th century (late Qing Dynasty) Chinese scholarís rock made out of a piece of amber in a shape of a soaring rock. Does not photograph well - photos came out very harsh. The piece is very large for amber as material and shows the original surface of the amber nugget, which conveys a very good feeling of a weathered surface of a mountain. 18th century Chinese bronze sculpture of a running boy holding a Precious Gem in his raised hand. Unusual image, wonderful casting and detailing - see his smiling face and knots of his robe. Excellent warm patina, 200 years worth of compressed dust on the surface, pleasantly heavy. Fixed to a newer beautifully carved hardwood stand. Very nice object for scholarís desk. Height with stand 3 5/16 inches (84 mm).

19th century Chinese cloisonne brushrest in a shape of 2 larger and 2 smaller scrolls providing space for brush placement. Top of the scroll outsides are decorated with blooming flowers on lattice background, ruy clouds motif borders. Very nice quality work, wear and pitting consistent with age, in excellent condition. Size: 2 3/8 x 3 5/16 inches, height 9/16 inches.
