Late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese soapstone ornament in a shape of a Buddhaís hand citron with bone stem. Nicely carved out of light green soapstone with darker and lighter veins giving depth to the material. Very nice patina, pleasant to hold, wonderful object for a scholarís desk. Late Qing Dynasty (1880s to 1911) Chinese bronze incense burner in a shape of a standing mandarin duck with its head raised. Wings and tail are decorated in champleve technique with red, green, blue, turquoise and yellow enamels with designs referring to ancient Chinese bronzes. Rather unusual good size 18th century Chinese pewter covered tea caddy of square section with indented corners, 4 short legs and cover. Did not photograph well - the colors are off, actual color is typical old pewter. Shoulders, sides, and tops of the cover and the body are inlaid with bronze or dark brass. Very unusual late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese scholarís ivory and ebony brushrest. Ivory is beautifully carved as a prunus trunk with flowers and buds, fixed in superbly fitted and excellently carved ebony stand. Elegant design and color combination, wonderful patina. Excellent functional object for scholarís desk, one of the most beautiful scholarís objects that I have had. Height 5/8 inches, total length 6 5/8 inches.
19th century Chinese scholarís rootwood brushrest / scholarís rock giving a perfect impression of a craggy mountain range with numerous crevices. Did not photograph well - photos came out too harsh. 19th century Chinese Canton enamel footed shallow dish painted in polychrome enamels with 4 different archaic bronze vessels containing scholarís items such as reishi fungus scepter, peacock feather and coral branch, all on light blue ground. Scrolling design in black enamel on the inside and in blue on the outside. Blue enamel floral mark on the bottom. Some tiny chipping outside along the upper rim.
