20th century Japanese hanging scroll painted with ink and colors on paper depicting juzu - Japanese Buddhist prayer beads - accompanied by a very lengthy poem. Wonderful Zen Buddhist subject, superb free brushwork. Signed with one vertical line of characters, and sealed with 2 red artistís seals. 1930s Japanese silver open salt in a shape of an incense burner in ancient shape with handles and 3 feet, glass insert and a salt spoon with bamboo design handle. Samurai crests in roundels on 2 sides, each comprised of three water lily leaves. Excellent crisp work, marked STERLING 950 on the bottom. Diameter 1 7/8 inches.
1930s Japanese silver open salt in hibachi (portable charcoal-burning brazier) shape with 4 feet, glass insert and spoon with handle shaped like a Japanese tobacco pipe. Longer sides are decorated with 2 characters and samurai family crests, each comprised of three water lily leaves. Excellent crisp work, in great condition, marked STERLING ASAHI 950 on the bottom.
