The scroll depicts a Sambaso dancer with characteristic hat and fan, and a Saizo dancer playing tsuzumi (a hand drum), all under a rope with ribbons tied to it. 1930s Japanese formal short silk kimono (haori) with designs showing numerous fans with designs of pine, bamboo and various seals. Excellent quality wax resist work with minute details. The decorated side bearing those designs is actually the lining of the kimono, while the outside is brown silk (see Enlargement 4). Pair of unusual 1930s Japanese sterling silver salt and pepper shakers in a shape of Amida Buddha sitting with his hands in jo-in mudra - hand gesture signifying concentration. Excellent quality work, great faces and textile lines. Sliding door on the bottom marked STERLING 950, scratches to the bottom of one piece as can be seen on photos (can be polished off, I guess).
