Unusual pair of 1930s Japanese sterling silver and glass salt and pepper shakers. Glass bottles are of triangular section, overlaid with sterling silver bamboo leaves on stems. Excellent quality crisp work, wonderful patina, marked STERLING 950 on the bottom. Clever design, extremely well made, wonderful table objects in superb condition. Height 3 inches.

Good size Japanese bronze plate with chased design of shishi (Buddhist lion) with bushy tail. Elegant piece with great dynamic design, wonderful detailing (see the individual hairs on its legs), beautiful patina. The piece is in perfect condition, 3 loops on the back for hanging, silk cord. Signed SHUDO in seal form on the front. Unusual and very pleasing object. Diameter 11 7/16 inches.

Pair of unusual 1930s Japanese sterling silver salt and pepper shakers in a shape of Amida Buddha sitting with his hands in jo-in mudra - hand gesture signifying concentration. Excellent quality work, great faces and textile lines. Sliding door on the bottom marked STERLING 950, scratches to the bottom of one piece as can be seen on photos (can be polished off, I guess). Excellent design, very well made, wonderful table objects. Height 1 3/4 inches.

1930s Japanese silver open salt in hibachi (portable charcoal-burning brazier) shape with 4 feet, glass insert and spoon with handle shaped like a Japanese tobacco pipe. Longer sides are decorated with 2 characters and samurai family crests, each comprised of three water lily leaves. Excellent crisp work, in great condition, marked STERLING ASAHI 950 on the bottom. Length 1 7/8 inches, height 1 1/4 inches.
