| 19th century Japanese cloisonne plate decorated with two quails by a stream with grasses and flowers, one of the birds wistfully looking up at a millet stalk, all within a border of stylized flowers. The back is decorated with a typical Japanese scrolling design. Rare and early piece in terms of Japanese cloisonne, beautiful crisp work, in superb condition - no cracks or losses. Very pleasant matte finish with original pitting. Diameter 12 inches. | ||
