| 19th century Chinese fan painting in ink and colors on paper depicting a bird on a branch looking at her nest with 3 chicks. Superb quality work, elegant composition, perfectly captured mood of the scene. Excellent depiction of feathers and plant textures. Inscribed with a poem, signed and sealed by Zhou Xian (1820-1875), dated to the beginning of summer of 1868. Beautiful painting in excellent condition, mounted on paper with silk: paper size 14.25x25.5 inches, painting size 21.5 inches at the widest, painting band width is 7 inches. | ||
