| Late Meiji - early Taisho (1910s-1920s) Japanese pottery Raku ware natsume (tea caddy for storing powdered tea used in the final portion of tea ceremony) of cylindrical shape slightly widening towards the top. Wonderful potting, beautiful purplish glaze with salad green decoration of two long-tailed birds and a butterfly in flight. Very beautiful crackle to the glaze, pleasant patina. Great elegant piece in excellent condition, comes with wrapping cloth and original kiriwood box inscribed by the artist. Height with cover 2 7/8 inches. | ||
