| 19th century boxwood netsuke of loyal Chinese warrior Yojo symbolically piercing the coat of his master’s enemy with his sword before committing suicide. Wonderful carving with great face (see the way he bites his lower lip), wonderful sense of movement produced by his flowing sleeves. Beautiful staining and patina, differently sized deep himotoshi.
