Ivor Swain painted in the 1940s - 1950s. He was a professor at Queen University Belfast and painted part time as a hobby. He was never a well known artist. Laid Paper, laid on board. Light scratches on paper. Paper measures 9 7/8" x 14."

Original Oil on Board. The title and other information are hand-written on the back of the board but not all decipherable. However, J.B. Huysman signed as "Certified Original Paris 20 9/59." The surface of the painting is untouched. A tiny pinhead-size speck is off at right of left arm. This same female subject appears in other Huysman works, in particular on Rue a Alger, which sold Dec. 14, 2004 by Gros-DeLettrez, Paris for $39,930. The board measures 16 1/4" x 8 1/4;" the frame is 29" x 21."
