"...Exhibiting the Course of the Gulph Stream" Published by Wm. Duane, Philadelphia 1808. Engraving on laid paper, trimmed on the right side upper 1/2 of sheet within plate mark 5/16" by the binder. Map has light stains and is toned overall. 14 3/8" x 14 1/2."
Toned overall as a result of a cardboard backer in the frame, which also caused a 'white spot' effect in the right and left margins. Black and white with red pencil underlines of five names; one cartouche names Aiken the "Sports Center" of the South. The map lists the 95 Winter Cottage owners. The sheet measures 19 7/8" x 26 1/4."
