(One page, front and back) on tan laid paper of ladies in medieval dress, ca. 1870. Pencil-signed in the lower left-hand corner of one side. This sheet has been removed from a sketch book and the hinge remains on one long edge; the paper is toned and foxed overall. There are some pin holes and a 1" tear into the image field on a short edge with old tape. The mount covers a large portion of a signature on one side in the lower bottom center. Sheet measures 11 7/8" x 9 1/2."

Full Title: "The Right Hon. Gertrude Viscountess Villiers." Engraving after F. Calze, published April 20, 1773, London. Bold Mezzotint engraved portrait with a few wrinkles in the central top portion, probably caused from having been rolled. The plate mark was impressed strongly into the paper, causing some splitting along the platemark; there are also some old tape repairs along these splits. Sheet measures 22" x 16 1/2."

Two hand-colored botanical engravings, "Nila Hummatu" and "Perim-Kara," from Hortus Indicus Malabaricus, Amsterdam, 1678-1703. Engravings on laid paper, both printed as double pages with vertical folds in the center. There is a diagonal crease running along the top edge of "Perim-Kara" starting 1 1/2" down on the right side over the left corner ending above the plate mark. Each print measures 15" x 18."
