| The work is on paper and tipped to artist board along the top edge. This is a very early work (Circa 1955) by this current artist. Greene is a master artist in oil and pastel, and is more recently known for his portraits (Including many prominent people). He is also known for the New York Subway Series, including Wall Street Collection, the Christie's Auction house Series, Still Lifes and Figurative Works. He has authored the 1974 book "Pastel," edited by Joe Singer. He has developed several instructional art videos demonstrating techniques in oil and pastel. Selected collections: White House in Washington, DC, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Cincinnati Museum of Fine Art in Ohio, Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, IBM Collection, Harvard University in Massachusetts, Yale University in Connecticut, Princeton University in New Jersey and the American Express Company, as well as New York Life in New York, Hearst Corporation in New York, General Electric Corporation, City Hall in New York and the United States Embassy in the Vatican, Italy. Some light wear along the edges. Signed in the upper right corner as well as the lower right corner, and measuring 12 1/2" x 10 1/16." This painting comes with a written insurance value appraisal stating the appraised amount at $2750. This document was prepared in March of 2006 by an expert in the artwork of Daniel E.
