Antique Austrian burlwood large chest of a rectangular form with a narrow top drawer, and lower section with double doors and two interior shelves, the top shelf is narrower 9” deep than the second shelf 15” deep. There is a linear detail around drawer and doors, and small round feet. The exquisite burl is what makes this piece spectacular. It is missing its key and there is a small area that is missing burl near the bottom, front of the cabinet. Age: 19th century Size: 49 ½” x 40 ½” wide x 19” deep.

This superb Italian cabinet has a finely carved floral and leaf motif, and rounded front stiles on the top and lower portion with a spiral and repeating leaf pattern. The upper section has two deeply curved shelves painted a light coral color, and the lower section has one interior shelf. The cabinet has an overall white washed effect. The glass has been replaced in one of the door panels, while the other panel has the original glass. It dates to late 18th and early 19th century. The size is 93 1/2" high x 55 1/4" wide x 20" deep.

This unusual 19th Century empire settee has a mahogany wood frame, carved top rail has linear lines that terminate into a scrolled large leaf motif and a scrolled back rail, curved sides have a carved wood detail on the front of each end, and apron has the linear lines and leaf motif, four large carved animal claw feet that are on wheels. Modern looking parlor suite designed by Josef Hoffmann, Austrian (1879-1956), consists of four chairs, a settee and a tall round table in black bentwood with curvilinear and rectilinear lines, it has been re-upholstered in a marvelous black and white textile with birds, leopards and foliage, circa 1915. Joseph Hoffman was an Austrian architect, modern classic designer and craftsman, also known as "Quadrilateral Hoffmann” due to his passion for geometrical forms. He developed a "cubistic" language of form with its emphasis on straight, unadorned lines. Hoffmann is well-known for the simple, restrained, yet visually interesting dining chairs, several intended for cafés, that he designed early in the 20th century. Size: Settee is 30 ¼” high x 50 ½” wide X 19 ½” deep – Chair is 30 ¼” h. x 22 ½” w. x 24” d. Table is 31 ¼” h. x 23 ¼” diameter .
