This beautiful Japanese studio pottery glazed vase, dates to the early 20th century. The ovoid body with ridges and a short everted neck is painted with various scenes, a male figure painting a scroll, someone riding a horse and male figure pulling a cart, and people in conversation all in a blue and green glaze on a white ground, light brown glaze that dripped over the neck. The artist signature is on the base. It is 9 ½” high.

The Japanese porcelain Kutani plate has a beautiful large cockerel with elaborate tail feathers and a small hen on a green ground, with peonies and cherry blossom branches on a gold ground, with a repeating border of a scrolled design in red-gold with white chrysanthemums, Fuku mark on the base. It dates to the Late Meji/ Taisho Period (1900 -1926). Diameter: 18” (45.7 cm).
