Exceptional pair of Chinese Earth Spirits known as ch'i-t'ou of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) assured safe passage to the afterlife, these fantastical creatures were crafted with ferocious characteristics, one with a leonine face, knobbed horn and fan-shaped ears, the body is decorated in pale-green, orange with white and black pigment. The broad chest and belly is orange-red with swirls rising from the legs, with cloven hoofs firmly planted on a plinth, with its curled tail; the other figure has a humanoid face and extended foliate ears, with paled green flames on the body, bird-like clawed feet. Ferocious figures such as these were placed in pairs in the tombs of members of the Tang dynasty elite. The results of Oxford Authentication Ltd. Thermoluminescence test no. C207e48 is consistent with the dating of this pair. Height: 18 ½” (47 cm)

Pair of Chinese Tang Dynasty painted pottery equestrians, standing four-square on rectangular plinths, with mouths agape, remaining traces of pigment seen in the rider’s red and green tunics, and horse’s eyes. Age: Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) Size: 17” high

The small pottery vessel has a bulbous body and a tapering foot, with a human head acting as a spout, it has a Thermoluminescence test. It dates from the Neolithic Period 65-00-1700 BC. Size: 13”

This Chinese late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) finely molded pottery figure of a warrior dressed in full regalia, standing in a wide-legged stance with his right arm over his chest, richly gazed in green with amber accents. The figure is positioned on a rosewood hand-carved custom fitted stand. The statue is in good condition. It is 17 ¼” high x 11” wide including the base.

The Chinese polychrome pottery figures with removable heads are standing on octagonal pedestals, the figure on right is wearing a tall rectangular hat and is holding a box, other figure is wearing a rounded hat with a tall decorative top with an opening, holding an offering bowl, and they are both wearing long skirts with long tunic tops. Age: 1368-1644 - Size: 29” high

Pair of Chinese Fahua turquoise glazed pottery vases with molded dragons on the front and back with an amber glaze and open handles on each side. They date to the Ming Dynasty, 15th-16th century. They are 7 ¾” high.

The seated official is with two young attendants on either side, and all are on a raised plinth with a back, the glaze in a cream color with yellow-brown accents. Age: 19th Century - Size: 9-3/4” High x 6” wide x 5” deep

Chinese 17th century blue-glazed pottery figure of an official holding a black-glazed bowl, the figure is wearing a long draped blue robe and tall hat with an opening, standing on a hexagonal tiered pedestal, the head is removable. Size: 18 ¼” high.

Chinese pottery jar of ovoid form with everted rim and small loop handles and cord marked decoration over the body, it is in the Han style but dates to the 19th century. Size: 10” high x 10 3/4” diameter (25.4 x 27.3 cm)
