Well cast with oblong face, arched brows, flanked by pendulous lobes slightly flared at the tips, the hair tightly curled in deep relief, with an attractive dark brown patina overall. It has great signs of age in the torso and the tip of the finial is missing. It is on a wooden pedestal. It is 8” (20.32 cm) high with the base it is 9 ¼” (23.5 cm) high.

This low wide chair has curved back slats with two stiles, with arms that terminate in a rounded form, carved apron and front panel with a leaf motif. The front and back legs are in a triangular position, with the side panels with curved gilt wide slats. The seat is with split bamboo. The tall standing Buddha with a serene face and elongated ears, is wearing an elaborate crown with green jewels and a long flowing robe that is embellished with green mirror jewels, his right hand is holding a precious jewel, while the other is hand is holding his robe, while standing on a lotus pedestal. This exquisite Thai Buddha has delicate features along with elongated ears which are symbolic of his previous princely life style, inlaid glass eyes, and a tightly curled unisha that is bordered with inlaid jewels as well as the borders of his robe and sash. His right hand is holding a precious jewel while the other hand is holding the lower portion of his robe. He is wearing an elaborately decorated robe with a draped sash and foliate borders. He is standing on a lotus pedestal that is attached to a circular gilt wood base with three small attached acolytes. Origin: Thailand - Age: Late 19th Century - Height: 44 1/2” (113 cm)

This pair of exceptionally carved gilt wood Thai figures, date to the Late 19th- Early 20th century. The one figure is holding their hair that extends from their topknot, while the other statue is holding a rectangular plaque. They are both wearing long elaborate robes with stylized flame detail on the sides, borders of their robes are inlaid with minute pieces of clear glass, this same flame detail is also on their head pieces; both are standing on red lotus pedestals. There are signs of age throughout and the draped sash on right side of the one figure is loose. The one with the tall hat is 5’ ¾” high (167 cm).

Thai 19th century finely carved gilt and lacquered wood seated Buddhist monk with a bald head, has delicate features and painted eyes, is wearing a long draped robe that drapes across his left shoulder and is extended in the back, decorated with blue and silver jewels along the low-relief carved foliate borders.
