This Chinese antique large and colorful scroll is finely painted with emperors from various dynasties along with Buddhist deities and scholars, all are elaborately dressed, and some of the protective deities have fierce expressions. It shows slight signs of age throughout and near the bottom on the left side is a soiled spot. It is painted with pigment, ink and gilt accent. It is 82” x 39 ½” (208.3 x 100.3)

This exceptional Japanese carved wood statue of the Bodhisattva Maitreya. Maitreya is the only celestial Bodhisattva recognized by the sects of the Theravada school. The Bodhisattva with downcast eyes and elongated ears is standing wearing a closely fitted robe draped over one shoulder, his hair is in a chignon with a small stupa, a low crown surrounds his head, and his right hand is holding a vase. The vase moves around. The hand was carved around the vase. There are traces of white pigment, and slight traces of brownish pigment. The base of the statue is attached to two wooden pins that fit into a finely grained wood double lotus base. The statue and base are carved out of either sandalwood or camphorwood. It is 25” high.

The Japanese Satsuma vase by the artist Jiuzan was made on the island of Kyushu. It has a low squat ovoid body with a tall sloping cylindrical neck, finely painted in minute detail are two panels with a group of elaborately dressed beauties having tea, a ground of repeating diaper and floral patterns, delicate floral motif on the neck, Jiuzan signature on the base. Chinese red-glazed pottery Taoist figures of the "Eight Immortals" with their finely detailed faces and hands of unglazed brown pottery, wearing long draped red glazed robes, and each Immortal is holding their attribute. They are all standing on molded pottery rounded bases with overlapping green and blue glazed clouds with calligraphy signatures at the back of each figure, and each figure is standing on custom fitted rosewood base. In Chinese mythology the Taoists "Eight Immortals" are believed to know the secrets of nature. Not only are they revered by Taoists, but by all of Chinese society. Condition: Immortal Han Xiang Zi is missing part of his flute, the other Immortals have no signs of breakage or any parts missing, they all have signs of age. Size: 22 ¾" high.
This exceptionally cast bronze tiger is rearing up on one paw that is positioned on a small base, the muscular tiger has large paws, and his mouth is agape showing his fangs, and a subtle brocade design overall. Age: Mid 20th century and is 28 ½“high x 28 ½” long.

Pair Chinese porcelain plates that are a mirror image of each other, with a pair of phoenix birds perched in a tree, with foliage, peonies and pair of birds in flight on a white and blue-green ground. Each one is in a gilt and red shadow box. On the reverse side is a circular opening to show the back of the plate, and a Yongzheng mark. The inside of the glass has traces of water condensation.
