Chinese pair of beautiful polychrome cloisonné lamps with off-white shades. These Chinese cloisonné vases are from the early 20th century and were made into lamps in the West in the early 20th century. The design motif is of a pair of dragons chasing the “flaming pearl”, with repeating green leaf lappets around the shoulder on a blue ground with a gold wire wave motif. The vases are attached to Chinese carved wood bases that are attached to lamp bases. The one lamp has two dents on the body, a dent that is 1 ½” x ¾” near a dragon's head, the other dent is below the dragon's tail and foot. The other lamp has a portion of the wood base missing 1” wide.
