| Chinese detailed carving of a reclining Liu Hai and his three-legged toad. Liu Hai with his smiling face is wearing an angular hat and a long draped robe with a knobby knee poking through his robe and he is holding a feather pointer in his left hand. His three legged-toad is looking up at him with an open mouth and curled up tongue and small pointy teeth, his small round beady eyes are inlaid. The carving is on fitted dark-brown reticulated wood base. It is dated to the mid-20th century. It has an age crack across his left knee, and the feather pointer has a few minor chips on a few of the ends. Size: 12” high x 18” wide x 9” deep (30.5 x 45.4 x 22.9 cm) | ||
