| Pair of tall old Chinese lacquered wood figures that are French mounted as lamps. The one figure is Guanyin holding a ruyi scepter in her left arm and in her right hand a jewel, wearing as long elaborate robe with a leaf motif on the backside, there are some signs of loss on the back and small dented in spot, the statue is 30” (76.2 cm)high (as a lamp 43 ½” high 110.5 cm) the tall male figure with downcast eyes, has folded hands is wearing an detailed robe with the happiness symbol and signs of loss throughout, the figure is 36 ½” ( 92.7 cm) (as a lamp 47 ½” 120.7 high). The carved figures date to the early 20th century. | ||
