| The blue glaze exterior has finely incised unglazed biscuit porcelain dragons chasing the “flaming pearl”. The interior is a white ground with an exquisitely painted blue central medallion of a stylized leaf motif with smaller medallions of a floral design along the sides, interspersed is a delicate cloud pattern. There is a small hairline crack that is not obvious, it does not go all the way through, it has not been repainted and doesn’t need to be. It is dated Kangxi Period, although it has an apocryphal Ming dynasty mark of Xuande (1426-1435). The Ming dynasty mark was not used to deceive, but to pay reverence to an earlier period. Origin: China Age: Kangxi Period, 17th Century Diameter: 8” (20.3 cm) | ||
