Excellent Gorham small ladies flask/bottle with beautifully hand worked repousse flowers.Gorham hall mark and rooster which dates it to 1890. The cleverly made hinged top with original cork screws in a groove to open and close it so that it shuts tightly. The flask measures 5 1/8" long by 2 3/8" wide and weighs 2 1/2 ounces on a regular postage scale. the top is engraved with intials and has a slight dent on one side(see photo). Wonderful presentation heron/crane kogo with mon engraved on side of bird. Japanese hallmarks and Japanese characters for sterling silver on underside. There may be a gold wash on the beak and the top of the head, and part of the top of the kogo has a mat finish. This piece is in excellent condition and probably dates to the first quarter of the 20th century but could be a little latter. It measures 2 3/4" long x 1 1/2" deep x 1 1/2" high.
