A fine quality mid 19th century Japanese Meiji embroidered textile tobacco pouch with amusing metal work Kanemono(clasp)of man sitting on a huge, oversized pipe. The pouch is attached on a cord with a carnelian ojime to a fine pipe holder made from lacquered straw. The pouch is embroidered with Japanese motifs. The interior fabric appears to be brown suede leather with one compartment.The clasp on the interior of the outer clasp appears to be silver. Dimensions: 2 3/4" high x 5" long...
