Featuring a rare, English, early to mid 19th century, antique sterling silver and coral baby rattle and whistle. Lovely repousse work all over the surface. There are 5 bells(the 6th one is missing), a ring for hanging, and a fine coral piece for teething and good luck. The whistle does not work(it could probably be fairly easy to adjust to work) and the mouth piece, just under it,(perhaps the baby teethed in the wrong place!), is slightly indented on both sides(see photo). Beautiful French enameled plaques grace the 4 sides of this ormolu dried flower or potpourri holder. The plaques are all different and are decorated with medallions of exquisitely hand painted flowers. The medallions are surrounded by a boarder of raised jewels that are probably also enamel but look like opals. Gold scroll work surrounds the jewels. Featuring a wonderful quality, large, rare and very beautiful solid coin sterling silver napkin ring with 8 rows of 4 different, interesting engine turned designs. Elaborate engraved area with flowers and scrolls for monogram with flowers. Shape is an unusual barrel shape which flares out in the middle and in towards the top with a braided like border on both ends. Monogram appears to be "LFG" but could be interpreted differently. Rare American scrimshaw marine ivory(probably walrus)pocket knife in shape of lady's leg with shoe. Measures 3" long when open, and 2" long when closed. The blade is marked "England" on one side and "Rogers Cutlers to his".The word "Majesty" may be covered up by the ivory. There is also a cross hall mark and a star hallmark by the word England. Very rare and beautiful, this Galle platter is just about the most beautiful piece of perfect French faience I have ever seen or had the opportunity to offer. The fact that it is Galle makes it even more desirable. It measures 16 1/2" long X almost 12" wide. The song birds on the branch and bouquets of various flowers are exquisitely portrayed. Wonderful porcelain figurine of peacefully sleeping white cat, possibly Nymphenburg, European or Japanese. Finely modeled with unusual colorful bow. Very life like and great shape with its rear haunch curled under chin with tail. I love this little guy. He measures 6" long, 3 1/2" wide and 2" high. He is in purrfect condition except one tiny spot on the rear tip of his right ear which feels just a tiny bit rough and I think is a burst bubble from a firing flaw and in the making.No ...click for details
